NDIS Fees and Funding

All new clients are required to complete an initial consultation before commencing ongoing therapy.

Initial consultations are billed as a 90-minute service, consisting of 60 minutes of face-to-face (direct services) and 30 minutes of indirect services, which may include preparation, clinical analysis, documentation, and assessment and/or therapy planning.

During the initial consultation, the Speech Language Pathologist will meet with the child and their parent or caregiver to discuss concerns, gather background information, and begin developing an understanding of the child’s communication needs. Depending on the child’s history and presenting needs, this appointment may include formal or informal speech pathology assessment.

In the majority of cases, an assessment will be completed so that the Speech Language Pathologist can identify the child’s current strengths and challenges, which are important for developing appropriate therapy goals. Some assessments can be completed within a single appointment, however children with more complex needs may require additional sessions to complete the assessment process.

If an assessment is completed, a written report is typically prepared to document the results and recommendations. Our reports summarise assessment findings, outline the child’s communication profile and functional impact, and support therapy planning in line with NDIS requirements.

The Speech Language Pathologist will discuss our report options with you to ensure your NDIS funding is used effectively and that the appropriate documentation is provided at the right time.

Report writing is charged per hour based on the time required to complete the report. As a guide, an NDIS Baseline Report typically requires approximately 3 hours, while an NDIS Plan Reassessment Report typically requires approximately 4 hours. The expected cost will always be discussed with you before the report is prepared.

Reports are written once all assessment sessions are complete. Most reports are completed within 3 – 4 weeks. If a report is required urgently (less than 3 weeks), a $193.99 priority processing fee will apply, subject to therapist availability.
