For Alannah, the journey to become a Speech Language Pathologist began with an interest in Psychology. Initially aspiring to become a Clinical Psychologist, she pursued her undergraduate degree in Psychology but discovered along the way that her true passion lay elsewhere. Speech Pathology captured her heart because it offered the opportunity to engage in a different kind of therapy -one that felt dynamic, hands-on, and incredibly rewarding.
Before joining the Kids Chatter team, Alannah gained valuable experience as a literacy tutor with Multilit. Through this role, she developed a strong foundation in supporting children’s literacy skills, which continues to be a core area of interest for her today.
Why Kids Chatter?
“I was drawn to Kids Chatter by the bright and welcoming clinic space, as well as the impressive array of resources available to support both therapists and families. I knew immediately it was the perfect environment to continue my professional journey.”
Alannah has a keen interest in several areas of Speech Pathology, including articulation and speech processes, literacy, and pragmatics (social communication skills). Her enthusiasm for helping children improve their communication abilities is matched by her expertise in tailoring therapy to meet each child’s unique needs. Families working with Alannah can look forward to her engaging and evidence-based approach to therapy.
Outside of work, Alannah leads an active and adventurous life. She loves diving into a good book, playing soccer and challenging herself with rock climbing. Whether she’s scaling new heights or kicking goals on the field, her energetic and determined spirit shines through in all that she does.
