Lauren’s journey into speech pathology began at a very young age when it was flagged at daycare that no one could understand her. So Lauren saw a Speech Language Pathologist where she worked on her speech errors and early language skills (she even still has the report that the clinician wrote at the time!). Years later, when she was a teenager, Lauren and her mum were talking about the things they remembered about her speech pathology sessions, which made her curious about what else a Speechie did. This led her to do lots of research and ultimately pursue speech pathology after high school.
Before joining Kids Chatter, Lauren worked at another private practice where she found her passion in working with children with early language difficulties, speech sound disorders including childhood apraxia of speech, AAC, and working with the deaf/hard of hearing populations. Before she joined the world of speech pathology, Lauren worked as an administrative member at a hospital, had a sweet stint in a lolly business, and served as a cashier at IGA, so her diverse experiences have helped shape her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
