Yuri Branco

Yuri has always had an interest in how language and our minds work and how people learn to communicate with one another and also the difficulties that some children and adults experience when it comes to communication. He did his first degree in languages and linguistics and eventually did his speech pathology degree so that he can help others overcome communication difficulties and help them have a better quality of life. 

Before Yuri became part of our Kids Chatter family, he worked in another private practice with adults and children. His caseload included working with families to develop their speech, language and social skills as well as the implementation of AAC. He also had a big focus on parent coaching to help them create a language-rich environment to support their children’s language development and skills. Yuri worked together with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists which provided him with a holistic view of all the challenges that many families often face and how he could best help and support them.

Prior to becoming a Speech Language Pathologist, Yuri was an English teacher overseas where he worked with a variety of different populations including children and adults. As a Portuguese and Spanish speaker himself as well as living in several other countries before settling in Australia with his family, he has experience working with bilingual and multilingual families and has a great understanding of different cultures and languages.
